Lugar con encanto y, muy buenas vistas sobre el lago y la sierra. No pidas vermú, te quedarás sin saborearlo. Te lo ponen simbólico.

In winter and raining, is still a very cosy place to spend 2 relaxed days in Gerês. Food is delicious (coffee is okeyish) people are attentive. Real fireplace. The halls and living room are a little cold, but the room is super comfortable. With warm bath and a big bed. The mattresse is hard, but I woke up feeling restored, so it's good!

Wonderful location and the view from the room on the river. The room itself could be renovated. The restaurant is good. It might need a little bit more varieties of salads and light dishes, because main plates in the north are very heavy for me.

Pousada muito acolhedora, com quartos muito agradáveis e acima de tudo umas vistas lindíssimas para a albufeira da Caniçada. Em plena serra do Gerês. proporciona passeios e locais lindíssimos a visitar. Excelente

Nao voltar a "onde já se foi feliz". Um voucher de 140€, só deu para um quarto de 100. Atribuíram um quarto para cadeira se rodas, com wc a condizer! A vista anunciada não é de jardim mas de montanha. No r/c só se vê asfalto e copas de árvores.A pousada só vale pela paisagem, decoração da sala de estar e pessoal. Este é merecedor de 5 estrelas. Em termos de alojamento só dou três.Preço elevado para a época do ano (meados outubro) e para a qualidade do alojamento. Pousada bonita, mas não me convenceu. PENA!

Não sei em que critérios se basearam para atribuir 4* a esta pousada. Fomos recebidos por uma senhora sem formação, infelizmente não apontei o nome da mesma. Os quartos são fracos, não há robes nos quartos standard, as alcatifas apresentam manchas de uso anterior, não há amaciador para o cabelo, não há amenities de todo. Podem contar com um champoo e creme para corpo em doseadores imbutidos na parede. A limpeza diária dos quartos consiste em fazer a cama. Estivemos 2 noites, portanto 3 dias, as toalhas nunca foram trocadas.Aconselhados por terceiros, marcamos um almoço no restaurante da pousada. O restaurante em si não é nada de especial, para a qualidade que apresentam o preço é caro. Os couverts na ementa apresentam-se da seguinte maneira: pao, manteiga e azeitonas 4€. Mas na verdade os couverts são cobrados individualmente, isto é, éramos 6 pessoas, serviram o pão, manteiga e azeitonas para quem pediu, quando chegou a conta cobraram-nos 24€ em couverts, portanto independentemente de comerem os couverts ou não, é cobrado o valor individualmente, o que não faz sentido nenhum.De realçar a simpatia dos colaboradores do restaurante, o pequeno almoço foi muito agradável graças a eles.Pequeno almoço bom relação preço-qualidade.Vista magnífica.

Pousada erigida num lugar paradisíaco e muito sossegado. Localizado perto das Caldas do Gerês, o geocentro de quem quer partir para conhecer o Gerês. Os serviços: atendimento muito bom às entrada e saída. Restaurante com refeições interessantes. Pequeno-almoço agradável. Quarto de cama confortável e com esplanada.

The view is 5 stars indeed. The location is great, the atmosphere also. The staff is very friendly. However the bedroom could be improved. We found the bed quite uncomfortable and pillows very bad.

Muy buenas instalaciones y vistas preciosas

Good restaurant. A little overpriced on the couvert, the wine, but fairly priced on the actual main dish. The mushroom and spinach risotto was 14€ and the chicken leg stuffed with fresh sausage was €18. Good service! Great view.

Excellent hotel in Gerês. The view of the restaurant/breakfast balcony is just unbeatable. The staff is super nice and will do anything to assure that you have a good time :) the rooms are modern enough for the needs of the usual traveler.

Sitio com uma paisagem deslubrante. Acolhedor. Calmo Staff prestavel e sempre com um sorriso. Jantar agradavel. Comida tradicional e muito saborosa.. Sem duvida local a voltar e recomendar.

One of the worst stays.. I’m quite sad to write this terrible review regarding our stay in Pousada da Caniçada. Me and my boyfriend went for a hike in Gerês, which is one of the most beautiful places in Portugal. We decided it was best to stay the weekend, we could enjoy a nice dinner and peaceful night on saturado, rest well and start our hike Sunday Morning. Pousada da Caniçada, was our choice to spend our evening and night. This Hotel belongs to Pousadas de Portugal and it’s part of Pestana’s Group which is not suppose to be bad. I can start by telling you, as soon as we arrived, in our car we realised that not of the Hotel’s parking had surveillance. how? and why? Where is it that guest are suppose to park and feel that their car would be safe?! Then as soon as we enter the hotel we had to look for someone to take care of our check in. If we would just waited there, we would probably stay for ate least 30 minutes waiting… After sometime, we finally found someone to help us. While doing the check in I asked the lady if we could have dinner earlier then our reservation (that I previously made over the phone), which she answers, I don’t know you have to go to the restaurant and ask them. - Why I wondered - you don’t have a phone to call them? are you not the same facility? (I asked this just in my own head) - and there my boyfriend went to ask if we could have dinner earlier which the restaurant said it should be fine. After an explanation on where are room was, here we go, to rest a little bit before our 8 pm reservation for dinner. OMG, when I got to the room I was shocked. It was terrible, the floor was this old carpet, all the walls were dirty, the furniture was old and poorly decorated and the worst, the duvet cover was dirty.. Let me just say if the room cost 80 euros our less I would have no problem with this outdated hotel, but in reality this rooms cost 190 euros per night (superior room with view to the dam). Also just so you know if you are a Pestana member you get 10% of discount, and if you find the same room cheaper in any other website, Pestana will match that price. Anyhow, I felt robbed. It kept getting worst. When it was time we came back to the lobby so we can access the restaurant. To get to the restaurant you pass this amazing living room, with a giant fireplace, and imagine the disappointment when all the lights were off, as well as the fireplace.. It felt like and abandoned room… We sat down for dinner, and because of Covid, they know set the table just when you are sited, which is great. Only problem here, they do not even iron the tablecloth.. The menu is short and poor, and the wine list has an inflation rate that is out of this world. My boyfriend end up just having a glass of red wine that cost 5.00€, and when the bill came this was 50 cents more expensive then the list…When we complained about it, first they tried to show us that the price of 5.50€ but that was the white and not the red wine… You could see the receptionist huffing, and gets what in this situation she was able to call the restaurant to confirm but not to change our reservation… Honestly this has so much potential and it's so mediocre… I hope I don’t ever have to stay here again. It’s too expensive for what it is.. It’s old, outdated and the service it’s terrible ...

A Pousada Caniçada-Gerês é uma das Pousadas de Portugal, administrada pelo Grupo Pestana. Está localizada numa encosta aprazível que mira tido o vale do Rio Cávado. Uma pitoresta albufeira. Sua arquitetura é moderna ao estilo de cabana dos Alpes. Grandes janelas, voltadas para o vale, criam um cenário adorável nos quartos, esplanada e restaurante. A piscina é outro atrativo. Durante a pandemia, todas as medidas de segurança foram tomadas. Um lugar para o encanto.

The Pousada is very beautiful and it's location it's amazing. One thing that we disliked was the slow table service on the bar, hope that they fix it.

Carisimo, la habitacion un zulo, n° 402, precio con desayono 152 €. no vuevo creo que es una exageracion el precio, no hay en la habitacion ni una mesaporque no cabe , cuando reclamas te dicen que es asi y no te queda mas remedio que quedarte porque no puedes ponerte a buscar un hotel por la tarde lejos de cualquier sitio, no vuelvo y si alguien lee esto que tome nota y no venga.

Vistas espectaculares, buenas instalaciones, y trato perfecto

Posada en un paraje espectacular, altamente recomendable. Las habitaciones aunque son cómodas, silenciosas, un remanso de paz, pero son un poco pequeñas, nosotros estuvimos en una superior con vistas al embalse.

The least interesting Pousada in the North. Quite far away from activities as well. Even though the view and the National Park make up for it, the room and full hotel were kind of outdated. Personnel was lovely though and helped us good with what to do. Breakfast was a plus, with a lot of choices!

Situada en un promontorio con unas vistas magníficas que dominan todo el valle. El salón y la terraza lucen magníficos en decoración y estilo. La experiencia en su terraza resultó algo ruidosa por los coches que pasan continuamente a su lado y algo cara para lo que nos sirvieron.

Situación inmejorable a la entrada del Parque Nacional y con unas vistas fantásticas. La atención y limpieza más que correctas, pero los colchones demasiado usados al igual que el mobiliario de las habitaciones, todo ello necesita una renovación. El restaurante con unos entrantes y pastas que nos salvaron el presupuesto, porque los pescadosy carnes se iban muy por encima de lo razonable. Mejor comer fuera en los alrededores se encuentran sitios muy interesantes. En general algo por debajo de las expectativas y el precio.
