Stayed here a few years ago and it was great. Can’t say the same now. Disappointed with many areas of our stay. Swim out room - highly recommend. It was the highlight of the trip. Staff are hit and miss. Some friendly, but many don’t seem to care or even know how to do their jobs. They look confused and unhappy. Given that, some staff were striking out front so they prob had to bring in anyone they could find to help staff. Sad. Housekeeping was horrible, and that’s even after we left a daily tip. The marble floors are very slippery. Fell a few times (not the tequila!). The grounds are kept well and the wild animals are entertaining- deer, cote, monkeys, iguanas, and lots of cats. Al-a-carte’s are great. Buffet … substandard. Chill Out restaurant on the ocean is a must (but not part of the all inclusive). Your cab from airport to resort should be about $90 US. We were charged $140! This is not a 5 star resort anymore. Would give it 3.5. Would stay again only because of the swim out and if they do some much needed upgrades. Weather was fantastic!

Pretty place. Nice beach area.. Buffet has lots of room for improvement. Breakfast buffet was mostly good.. The poolside snacks were good and the Mexican dinner was enjoyable. But it's hard to get reservations for restaurants. All staff was helpful and no timeshare people bothered us.

Beautiful resort absolutely top notch everything!!There is nothing bad that can be said about this location at all.Sure there will be food or drink that isn't amazing but the site, the grounds the service and the variety of food and drink makes this an amazing resort.Animals and Coati roam freely bringing smiles everywhere, service is fantastic and the grounds and rooms are beautifully maintained.Loved it!!

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a stay. This site will compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of my favorites in this area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely will love it I'm sure! Beautiful!!! One of the best all inclusive resorts we have stayed at. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was AMAZING! We will definitely be back

Pésimos el servicio y la atención de la Mayoría del personal parece que te Hacen un Favor al Recibirte. Lo peor del Mundo la Comida sin sabor, sin Sal, todo Repetido y las Habitaciones no las Limpian sucias no hay focos ni botes de Basura en las habitaciones no es nada Recomendable hasta intentamos pagar una Noche adicional y el de recepción nos dijo que era en la Página Tuvo Flojera Cobrar no gasten su dinero aquí

El servicio y la actitud de los colaboradores del hotel es MUY MALA. Y más allá de esto, que es tristísimo (uno busca relajarse y tener buen ambiente cuando está de vacaciones) Tuvimos una situación de ROBO en una de las albercas del hotel. Dejamos 5 minutos en una mesa un neceser con celular dentro, y desapareció. Al pedir ayuda al staff del hotel y a lost & Found, la actitud fue completamente nefasta, no quisieron ayudarnos, y al solicitar revisar cámaras, se negaron por completo. Decepcionante y lamentable. No recomiendo visitar este hotel

Es terrible, la comida y el servicio de sus empleados. Se supone que es todo incluido pero es muy complicado reservar en los restaurantes te ponen excusas para no hacer la reservación, losbuffet qué hay son terribles y sucios,pésimo personal de las barras súper mal educados y con mal carácter como si te estuvieran haciendo un favor. El servicio y la actitud de los colaboradores del hotel es MUY MALA. si realmente quieres disfrutar tus vacaciones busca otro lugar.

Ha empeorado bastante el hotel. Bufet es malo, era mejor antes. Tienen poco personal que hace lo que puede para atender a la gente pero se ve que son pocos. Estuve 15 días, me toco ver mucha gente en distintos días reclamar porque no había carnes. No alcanzan a reponer, son muy pocos. Es cosa de que cualquier supervisor o persona que le interese mejorar la calidad del hotel acuda a comer un día y verá sus problemas. Otro problema es de los vasos. No dan. No son sufiicientes ni tampoco los meseros que van a servir. Cubiertos no llegan nunca. Le dices a un mesero que te lleve y te dice le digas a otro. Lo divertido es que le dices a ese otro y te dice le digas al que te había enviado a él, absurdo. Deberían tener personas encargadas de ver como está funcionando el servicio y hacer mejoras. Fui años atrás a este hotel y el servicio Ha empeorado en vez de mejorar. Sus instalaciones no obstante si son muy bonitas.

El lugar increible, espacios abiertos, las recamaras de ensueño, muy bien cuidadas y lipmia, la comida muy rica, no tuvimos la posibilidad de probar el restaurante italiano ( a la próxima jeje).En cuanto a la animación super, los chicos son muy lindos,en especial se destacaron dos chicos, Federico y Sophie. Muy bien, esperamos regresar pronto.

Excelente hotel, cuenta con una gran variedad gastronomica con más de 5 restaurantes especializados de comida asiática, mexicana, italiana, francesa y de cortes. Hay shows nocturnos diario. Lo único malo es que todo esta lejos en el Resort y tienes que tomar un auto de golf que pasa cada 15 min, el cual es insuficiente en horas pico

Excelente servicio, buena comida, bebidas muy bien preparadas. Las botellas en el cuarto, no recomendables pero todo lo preparado en el bar muy bien. Playa bien aunque nos tocó mar picado. En general muy recomendable.

We stayed in a Platinum suite at the Grand Riviera Princess in the second week of December 2021. This hotel is a standard 3 STAR resort. It is NOT a 5 star hotel. All the food, including the à la carte restaurants are buffet quality; always bland and generic. The bars use only fruit syrups to make drinks - so don't order a strawberry daiquiri and expect anything but a sugary goop with some alcohol in it. The staff try very hard working with what they are given. but the management/ownership of the resort are cutting too many corners to call this a destination worth returning to.P.S. We stayed at a smaller resort nearby in July 2021 and had a much better experience. That resort we will be going back to.

A tough one here. Initially we were told we needed to pay for the room after we paid online about 6 months ahead. Obviously something slipped through the cracks there. We were supposed to get a package that would give us fruit and champagne in our room, it wasn't there. The buffet was average at best. Also, a dinner that also was included in our package took some effort to schedule because, again they had no record of it. The staff on the other hand were very kind and helpful. It felt like there was a management overhaul and many things fell through the cracks. The resort is beautiful. The wildlife was also pretty cool to see mingling among the guests. I hope management gets things together and hopefully hires more staff also. This could have been a very good experience but it was sub par.

Staff was amazing but please be patient as they are under staffed and those that are working are working hard. Food was a little bland but lots of variety and lots of fresh fruit. Very clean grounds & rooms. Beach is amazing and cleaned every morning of seaweed. Entertainment everywhere for all ages or get a swim up room for more privacy. Tip when being served, they don't make much and I find when you tip you get greater service. It doesn't cost a thing to Be Kind and Respectful of the country your in!

Me and my girlfriend stayed at this amazing resort back in September. The staff was so friendly, the facility is huge and amazing in every single part of it. I’m not gonna lie, before we left I was a little worried after reading some reviews, so I was on the look out that sooner or later something was gonna go wrong. The resort and our stayed was way better than my expectations! We really loved it! The beach was amazing. We loved the Mexican restaurant and the buffet - you could literally find anything at the buffet -. Personally, if I go back to Mexico I will try to go back at the Riviera Princess.

Muy lindo hotel. Es antiguo pero está muy bien mantenido. Las piletas son divinas y hay gran cantidad. La playa está muy bien. Una parte tiene arena y otra piedras pero se puede estar súper bien en el mar Las instalaciones y los servicios que prestan están acordes con su valor Es un muy lindo lugar.

Second time here- this time, accidentally! Our original resort in Cancun was on fire 😅 so we were unable to stay there. We knew we enjoyed our stay at Princess last time, so we booked rooms there and got a taxi over. Let me just say it was even BETTER than I remembered! We got a Family Club Suite, as it was one of the only rooms available, and it had us wishing we had brought our kiddo! The bathrooms in these rooms and all the amenities are unbeatable. We’ve been to Mexico 8 or 9 times, probably 6 or 7 resorts, and Princess is by far our favorite! ALSO- fastest And most efficient covid testing offered on site that we’ve ever had. Not the cheapest, but they make it super easy.

Me hospede en el platinum que es solo para adultos y es un ambiente muy tranquilo. La comida bastante variada y muy rica. Me hubiese gustado que los bares estén abierto más tiempo. Si buscan más relajo entonces les recomiendo el familiar ya que hay más ambiente, mucho más grande el hotel y la playa esta más limpia. Si se hospedan en el platinum tienen acceso al familiar y los llevan en un carrito al hotel.

We had a swim up room so we were able to stay in the water there and avoid the crowded unmasked folks in the community pools, talk about super spreader events, the staff are great, very careful about masking and hand sanitizing, the guests less so, the food here is excellent, the buffet meals are great, good quality food with excellent Chefs and servers. We enjoyed the nightly shows, there is a first class animation team here

Large resort with excellent service. There were some facilities issues: There were not plugs for our coffee maker and a lamp without moving the TV. Also some of the urinals in the public restrooms looked like they were becoming detached from the walls. It's unclear if it has to do with the recent closure and reopening. Our friends also had a rude concierge but the manager immediately addressed the situation. Overall it was a lovely vacation.

Un lugar muy grande, muy bonito y la verdad el personal demasiado amable. No sé porque si es un lugar dónde hay mucha vegetación, no hay "mosquitos", soy de las personas que siempre son picados por estos insectos. El lugar se recomienda sólo, vale la pena FELICIDADES!!!

Some staff were awesome! Edwin, Angelica, Veronica, Oscar, a few other waiters n waitresses that I'm sorry I forget their names. Wildlife was great fun. Rooms were good size, swimouts were excellent. Food was good. Go platinum, don't upgrade, they don't give you any extras unless you ask. Beach was beautiful. Pools were very clean. Mini Market was good but expensive.

Thank goodness for APRIL!! She explained everything we would need to know to make our stay comfortable. I do wish there were a few more activities to chose from. And that room service was faster especially at night when it’s your only food option. Would recommend for a large family with kids.

This hotel has great services. All inclusive made it easier to get food without leaving the resort. Great steak house restaurant and Mexican food restaurant. The taco bar by the pool was delicious. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly and always greeted you with a smile. House keeping did a great with cleaning the rooms and bringing towels and drinks.The rooms were clean upon arrival besides one small mishap. But that was made up by receiving two bottles of champagne and two plates of desserts. There’s was plenty of activities on the resort and the beach was beautiful near this hotel. Great drinks, food and activities. I didn’t want to leave 😁

Good: Gym was nice. Room was good. Site itself is pretty good looking Bad: Food wasn’t enjoyable. (First time in my life I ever went hungry at an all you can eat / all inclusive …) Sales people are everywhere trying to sell you something. (Received a call at the hotel room telephone at 8 AM telling me I could pick up 2 free shirts and a tequila, but it was a marketing scheme to sell you stuff when I went to claim it.) Some employees / staff weren’t friendly. (Asked for an espresso at the entrance bar / drink area and was told “no, it’s to early and warm outside for coffee” - exact words. At this point I was pretty annoyed with my entire experience with this hotel and asked “so when does the coffee machine turn on?” And he answers “In 15 minutes“ It was 9 am and there were 3 guys standing there, not actually doing anything. Similar situation when I asked for a towel. When I asked the exact answer was “no”. (They had one towel .. we were two people) So glad I only stayed here two days and didn’t book a longer stay. Never again.Other info: the location is pretty massive. You usually need 10 minutes just to walk to the beach or to the food area.

Los restaurantes de buffet bastante pobres en opciones. Las piscinas sin música, solo en 1 había entretenimiento y a las 5.30pm cierran todas las barras de las piscinas. Los restaurantes a la carta, el único que vale la pena es el italiano, el resto estuvo pésima la comida y pésima la atención. Las habitaciones muy lindas, cómodas y amplias. Los espacios libres llenos de verde y de plantas. Es hermoso. Si me gustó pero no regresaría.

We're pretty adventurous and when we go on vacation, we're usually exhausted when we get back home and return to work. So when our plans changed due to the summer of 2021 smoke caused by the fires in the western US, our travel agent suggested Mexico. What a great idea. The Grand Riviera Princess is a five-star resort in normal times and even during this Covid year, they did an outstanding job striving to be a five-star resort considering all the restrictions and challenges. We could've been the ugly tourists, and there were some, complaining about all the little inconveniences but I would rather focus on the fact that we were able to completely relax, detach from the worries at home and it was exactly what we needed without knowing. The resort is beautiful. The food was amazing. The nightly entertainment was enjoyable. The staff was friendly and sincere. What a great vacation!

The facility is very nice. Pools everywhere, food is good, restaurants a la cart are very tasty and the family club the concept is great. But the way they function maybe not. They have a nice castle with a water park for the kids the rules says (exclusives for the water park) they are open from 8am to 8pm (you can see the pictures attached to this comment) they also say you have to be pending on your kids every time, they are not responsible for anything that happens to them. That’s ok. The problem is at 5 pm the life guards need to leave. And they want to close the water park. They almost push you out. I said that the water park most to be open to 8 pm. After a while arguing he and me they left but shut off the water on the park. They did not care about the rules. Come on are my only vacations on the year with the kids , I do not want to break the rules I was claiming what is fair. They were just rude. That it’s not the way they supposed to behave. We are client paying a lot of money for being there. And we weren’t breaking any rule

Aquelas férias de sonho com tudo incluído, num hotel moderno e com uma belíssima praia tudo dentro do mesmo sitio. A limpeza é muito boa, e os restaurantes são deliciosos! Várias piscinas e várias zonas de descanso para poder relaxar e usufruir de umas férias sem preocupações. Na praia tem um bar do hotel onde podemos ir buscar bebidas e comida. Na praia deste resort vi o nascer do sol mais bonito que vi até hoje!

Excelente resort! Adorei tudo, desde a recepção, as instalações, restaurantes,espaços, quartos amplos, piscinas e praia. Os funcionários são super simpáticos e solícitos ( deixem gorjetas porque são mau remunerados e as "propinas" ajudam muito). Tudo estava muito limpo e bem cuidado.Os animais do resort são um charme a mais. Super recomendo!
